New Release confirms company as the industry's leading
copy cataloguing software
BARRIE, Ontario , June 26, 2007 – WebClarity Software Inc., the global leader in standards-based search software and resource sharing for cataloguing is pleased to announce the general release of its BookWhere and MARC Notepad products. Of particular note, is the concept of heuristic scoring. This new feature significantly improves the record selection process for catalogers allowing them to quickly pinpoint higher quality bibliographic records for copy cataloguing.
Implemented with graphical color rating and numeric scoring, new records are automatically evaluated and scored upon retrieval. “Catalogers do not have to perform any extra steps to immediately see the best results,” explains President/CEO Phil Smith . While helpful for sorting through all types of material, this new feature will especially benefit those looking for multimedia or other resources that do not contain unique identifying numbers for which high quality records have been traditionally more difficult to find. With each record clearly evaluated for completeness, catalogers will be able spend less time evaluating records and more productive time on getting materials to the shelves for library patrons.
Feedback from the Beta process proves that WebClarity hit the mark with this release. Marlene Pelyhes of Mentor Public Library says, “Just look for the green color code for Go! - the higher the score assigned the better the record for our needs - higher numbers have added Subject Headings and Content Notes that are important for our patrons to find materials. We are finding more matches than we were with our other vendor source and now with the new version 6, our MARC record lookup goes even faster!"
