Summer Reader is designed to help libraries manage reading programs and interest groups for all ages and for all seasons. Extend your public services by creating ongoing programs that target special interests, for example, teens (e.g. Manga Mania reading groups), and book clubs. You can also use this as a personal tool for individuals who just want to log what they’ve read.

Easy to brand as your own

Summer Reader uses style sheets so creating great visuals requires no special programming knowledge. And the descriptive and instructional text is all your own!

Easy for your patrons to use

Summer Reader is Web-based and allows online registration. Its intuitive interface means that patrons who are used to navigating Web pages will find it a breeze to use. Patrons do not have access to any other patron or system information with the exception of reviews that have been accepted by staff.

Engaging your community

Once your patrons start creating book reviews, they’ll be hooked – and reading other patrons’ reviews may just broaden their horizons. You can manage the reviews that are posted for public viewing.

Secure (and easy!) for staff to use

The password-protected staff interface allows access to program data, participant information, and to program and system setup and configuration. It also helps staff track statistics and generates a number of reports to help staff measure a program’s effectiveness. Since it’s online and updated in realtime, staff can monitor registration quickly and easily.

Keep track

Summer Reader lets you set your own report fields and then tracks the data you need for those all-important reports. It also tracks awards for completed milestones.
