Does word order matter?
Word order can be important, depending on the term or field that you’re searching for and the database that you target.A sample search for author Louise Erdrich against 6 public or consortial library databases returned just 144 records [70 from one of the databases and 74 from the other, with no hits from the other 4 databases]. A search for author Erdrich Louise against the same group of databases returned more than 600 titles with results for each of the 6 databases.
