Marion County Public Library Saves Time with BookWhere!

Marion County Public Library saves time with BookWhere. Joining an already large BookWhere customer base in Florida, MCPLS recently selected BookWhere to improve their copy cataloging hit rate and most importantly to dramatically reduce the amount of time staff spend searching for MARC records. Carol Durrence, Manager of Technical Services, reports that her staff find BookWhere’s rating system very helpful and use it often because “it helps to pinpoint the fullest, most complete record.” The system, located in Ocala, north central Florida, comprises nine interdependent library facilities and two community bookmobiles and manages a collection of over 500,000 volumes. Ocala is located about an hour’s drive from either coast and is home to the Ocala National Forest.
