Library Director Heather Gallagher, who acquired BookWhere Suite as part
of the Evergreen Indiana consortial initiative, is very happy with her new software.
"The hit rate from BookWhere is really good, and it’s so easy to use. Even
with the really new titles, we can almost always find a good MARC record using
BookWhere. Our main goal for now is to get rid of our backlog of all the
titles we own but for which we had not been able to find MARC records before we
had BookWhere. We had a few days when our ILS was down for upgrades, but that
didn’t stop us from working: we just saved the records and uploaded them
later."
The town of Poseyville, Indiana, is one of the smallest communities ever to
have received one of Andrew Carnegie’s libraries. When the Library was built
in 1905, it was the smallest of Carnegie's libraries. Adding a children’s room
in 2000 more than doubled its size.
