How do I backup BookWhere settings?

BookWhere’s settings are stored in files located on your computers hard drive. The location of these folders will vary based on your Windows Operating System as well as the Windows logged in username. We recommend that you backup these files and folders on a USB flash drive or network drive whenever you have changed settings or database groups. If your computer is managed through a central network server some of these instructions may not apply to you. Please consult your network administrator for advice.
  1. Ensure BookWhere is closed while backing up your settings

  2. Backup the BookWhere Application Installer (e.g. BKMN720.exe)

  3. Backup the following folder (varies depending on your version of Windows)

    Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\%USERNAME%\Application Data\WebClarity Software Inc\BookWhere\

    Windows 7 & Windows 8: C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\WebClarity Software Inc\BookWhere\

Note: %USERNAME% is the login name you specify when Windows starts up. If you do not normally login when Windows starts the username might be something like Default User. If your computer is shared by several users, remember to make a copy of each user’s BookWhere settings folder

  4. Important Note: If you are changing computers don’t forget to backup any Session Files or Export Files that you may be working with on your old computer. These will normally be in My Documents\BookWhere\ unless you save them elsewhere.
