Alberta Regional Library System switches to BookWhere for copy cataloguing!
Pat Wauters, Bibliographic Services Manager at the Chinook Arch Regional Library in Alberta, is very pleased by their decision to switch to BookWhere. She loves having access to the many databases searchable through BookWhere and uses the ability to append the databases of his favorite z39.50 resources easily. Pat then can choose to keep the new listings as her personal entries or submit them to WebClarity’s registry for the company to monitor and update. Another key reason for their purchase decison was BookWhere’s price; it was half as expensive as the program they used before.
Pat further explains, “Batch searching has made a huge difference in our workflow. We no longer have to search for one title at a time. The searching interface is easy-to-use. We used to have a clerk who performed the searching, but now the cataloguers do their own searching. There are some neat features and probably even more that we haven’t discovered yet.”
The Chinook Arch Regional Library System is a network of independent, cooperating libraries in the southwestern corner of Alberta. Headquartered in Lethbridge, Chinook Arch serves the residents of 39 municipalities across the province’s south.
