Pickering Public Library selects PeopleWhere

Serving a population of just under 100,000 through its three locations the Pickering Public Library strives to deliver an exceptional customer service experience that exceeds users expectations.  To help support this vision the Library has selected to migrate from what has been a largely manual staff scheduling process to one that will be technology-based and they have chosen to use PeopleWhere.   It is important to staff that there be efficient and ubiquitous access to schedules for all staff regardless of location – being Web-based, staff can see their schedule as long as they are connected.  And it is also important that the Library provide a consistent means for staff to request for time-off and have those absences be approved, tracked and subsequently reflected in the schedule – through PeopleWhere staff can easily request for Vacation, Sick leave or other types of absences as defined by the Library.   Library staff are knowledgeable, skilled and highly competent in so many areas.  They also take professional development courses.  All of these assets they bring to the job can also be noted in PeopleWhere, so that when a need arises, staff can locate the right person with the right skills to assist.  It’s always important for managers to assess, monitor and where possible plan for change.  The visual reports available in PeopleWhere will help upper management in the library identify potential staffing patterns and synthesize data.  These types of reports have not been possible with the variety of manual processes in use.
